Understand BIC Pay's 0% per-payment fee

BIC Pay's live offer describes 0% BIC per-payment fees with a one-time setup charge and yearly AMC. That is a specific pricing model, not a statement that every part of accepting payments is free. Check the bank, payment method and service scope before comparing your options.

Separate BIC charges from other costs

The phrase 0% refers to BIC's per-payment charge. The live product page also describes setup and annual maintenance charges, and notes that a bank's own card MDR, if any, is separate. Ask for a written breakdown covering your payment methods and business setup. Do not assume that UPI, cards, netbanking and bank transfers have identical commercial arrangements. Confirm the services included in the quote and any charges outside BIC's scope. Prices are before 18% GST unless a tax-inclusive total is explicitly stated.

Map how your customers pay

List the share of sales made at the counter, through remote payment requests and through larger bank transfers. Ask which of your existing bank arrangements can be used and what onboarding steps are required. BIC Pay's live page describes UPI QR, payment links, card and netbanking through your own bank, and larger bank transfers. Availability for your exact bank and use case needs confirmation. A useful demonstration should follow an ordinary customer journey, including what the customer sees and what your staff sees afterward.

Check settlement and reconciliation

Ask where money settles, how the payment is matched to the bill and who investigates a missing confirmation. Money never flows through BIC. Confirm the bank-side settlement arrangement directly with the relevant provider instead of inferring it from a dashboard screenshot. Test how duplicate payment attempts, pending transactions and refunds are represented. A payment notification is only one part of the workflow; staff also need a clear way to compare the business's bank record with the transactions shown in its operating system.

Compare costs using your own volume

Use your actual payment mix and a representative month to build a comparison. Show setup, annual maintenance and any separate provider charges independently. Include taxes consistently on both sides of the calculation so the totals are comparable. Do not apply a generic card gateway percentage to all UPI volume. A lower-volume business may find that upfront setup changes the first-year calculation significantly. Ask for the assumptions behind any savings example and keep the written quote beside the worksheet. An estimate is a planning aid, not a final bill.

Use a clear first-year comparison

Create columns for your present and proposed arrangements. Show setup, annual maintenance, payment-method charges and taxes separately. Compare the first year and following year because setup may occur only once. Leave unknown bank charges blank and request confirmation rather than entering zero. Keep volume and the card-versus-UPI mix the same in both columns. This makes the comparison useful even when the arrangements use different fee structures.

Plan the demo and onboarding questions

Tell the BIC team your bank, approximate monthly collection volume, number of branches and whether you use BIC Billing. Use a sample transaction in a controlled demonstration and ask how your staff would resolve an exception. Clarify support ownership between the software team and the bank. Do not put bank account credentials, UPI PINs or customer transaction details in the enquiry form. Request current availability, implementation scope and timelines in writing. The page is an invitation to understand the service, not an instruction to change your payment setup immediately.
